Visiting the Three Kings Monument
Good news for travellers: the Three Kings Monument is a free, open public square you can walk through at any hour. Here is what to know before you go.
Admission & opening hours
Entry is free and the square is open to the public around the clock. There is no ticket booth and no gate — the monument sits in an open plaza in front of the Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Centre.
Where it is
The monument stands inside the old city walls, at the junction of Phra Pok Klao Road and Ratchadamnoen Road, directly in front of the Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Centre (the former Provincial Hall). A Plus Code and GPS pin are on the map below.
How to get there
On foot it is about a 10–12 minute walk (roughly 0.9 km) from Tha Phae Gate. By car or tuk-tuk, set the map pin and ask for 'Three Kings Monument' (อนุสาวรีย์สามกษัตริย์). Parking is limited in the old city, so walking or a short ride is easiest.
Tips for your visit
Come early morning or after sunset for softer light and fewer crowds. Sundays from about 16:00 the adjacent Ratchadamnoen Road closes for the Walking Street market — a great time to combine the two.
